Unhappy H3 Roof Light Bar Blew Off On The Highway Today

I was on the interstate traveling about 70-75 MPH today and all of a sudden I heard this loud noise and I saw wiring up against my windshield. I thought that the truck up in front of me must have lost a wiring harness or had a wiring harness in the back of his truck. I did not want to pull over right then, there was too much traffic. I needed to stop for gas at the next exit which was about 5-10 miles down the road.

Anyway, when I got out at the gas station, I saw that my entire middle part of the roof light bar had blown off leaving the two end lights but the three in the three in the middle just blew right off, leaving the wiring.

I didn't go back to try and find it assuming it would have been broken into a million pieces and if it had landed in the road, it had been run over numerous times.

My goodness, has anyone else ever experienced this???

Anyone know where I can get a used one as I'm not spending like 800 bucks to get a new one.

This is for my 2006 H3.

Thanks as usual for any help.

Warranty or not, if you bought it new, and it was dealer installed, I'd be back there raising all kinds of he*l!!

Good luck finding one new as they have been discounted. IIRC someone checked the dealer database and there was only one listed and it was under the old number. With that being said, you should still be able to get parts for them but that is not always true. Were they installed by a dealer?

Ghost Rider didn't say, but, I'd be curious if the screws came loose, or if they pulled right through the plastic.

If it was original equipment, your insurance company might share the cost with you...just a thought

Actually, it just blew off and left the screws in! Quite embarrassing driving it today with those wires at the top, lol.
