So unless it's CHEAP, you could probably do better!!

The following is a copy of what I posted on the H2 Forum. Did not get any replies, so I pulled it. Thanks for your reply HummBob.

I’m looking at jumping into the H2 waters. First, I’m one of those guys that’s always loved H2’s and been jealous that I didn’t have one. Second, for about ten years now, just as a hobby, I’ve bought and sold cars and trucks on the side. Give them a good cleaning and/or tune-up (if needed) and then resell them. Sometimes I’d make a couple of $, and sometimes I’d loose a couple of $. When I started, I had one goal in mind. I wanted a Corvette and be able to pay cash for it with the money I’d made selling cars and trucks. Well, that goal of the Corvette changed about three years ago. My wife and I love going to the State Fair of Texas every year. I like it for the auto show. We went three years ago, and there I was sitting in a vette, when I got out, I walked over to a new 2005 H2.(GOAL CHANGED)Third, now that I’ve bought and sold enough cars and trucksI’m ready. So, here is the deal. I’ve found a 2005 H2 with 76,XXX on Craig’s List. (copied and pasted the add below)

Carfax History Report came back clean. Original Owner. No issues, other than normal maintenance done at the dealership.
The asking price was $23,500. I went last Sunday and took it for a test drive. Afterwards, my final offer was $19,500. The offer was accepted. I went over the H2 with a fine-tooth-comb; the following are the items I found to be in need of addressing:
The seals around the Transfer Case are leaking on both sides.
The dash has a small crack on the passenger side.
The driver-side front door, right in the middle, rubs the front finder when it’s first open. (due to being blown open by the wind)
Need new tires[/ol]
With items listed above, I’m not that concerned with, other than the seals leaking. I’ve read through a lot of post and found they could turn out to be expensive to repair. I’ve pulled a Carfax History Report. Everything the owner has told me checked out with that report. If I go through with the deal and buy it, it will only be used for trips and cruising around the lake where we live. I’ve found these forums can be very helpful and educational when purchasing and maintaining a vehicle. I’m just looking for some input from folks who are owners and see what they think.
