Ok, know I'm new here, and dont know much on the Hummers yet, but am a DIY guy, learn fast, and have a few tricks. So, here's a suggestion.
An OBD II reader from Pep Boys, AutoZone, etc, costs about $60. Whenever, I have some idiot light saying something, especially if I've been tooling, and I cant find a reasonable cause, I hook it up, scan any codes, then reset them. I watch for a few days to see what happens and if they return. 99% of the time, its a silly glitch or computer fart, and does not return.
Learned this by paying $125.00 to the Jeep dealership to turn off the "Check Engine" light because I failed to achieve the mandatory third click reinstalling the gas cap. It sensed a suction problem, and freaked me out. Now, if it sounds fine, runs fine, nothing is too hot, and I dont smell something burning, I just reset the darn thing and keep an eye on it.
Now, again, dont know much about the Hummers yet, but unless someone here with more experience tells you it cannot be reset with an OBD II, I'd give it a try.
Cheers,
Mike
