Default Yanked my door handle off....

So my doors were frozen this morning. I yanked on the rear passenger handle and the damn thing broke off. The plastic piece that connects it to the inside assembly broke. I've already got a new one ordered, but does anyone have a link showing how to remove the inside panel? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Dude, that sucks. Couple days ago my doors were frozen shut as well and while pulling to get them open I had an image of pulling the handles off. Cheap plastic junk..

Anyway, if you do some searching here there are some pretty good descriptions. Unless something broke and actually fell inside the door, you should not need to remove the door panel, just the round plug. Look for threads on swapping chrome/black handles.

yeah like Skeptic said... you dont have to remove the inner door panel... there's a cap that you remove to access the bolt head and than the other part just pulls off... real easy swap... and the replacement will prob come with instructions...

However there is nothing preventing it from happening again so I would almost lean towards the billet ones...

FWIW I did exactly the same thing. My dealer replaced the handle under warranty in under 30 minutes, so that makes me think you can do it without removing the inner panel.

Lesson learned - if there is frozen mud on the rear wheel wells then either:

a: chip off the mud before attempting to open the door
b: climb in the rear seat and push on the door with your legs
while someone on the outside pulls gently on the handle
c: a and b
