XM Radio Renewal
So my XM subscription came up for renewal at the end of April. I was on a $77/year promotional rate.
I called XM and asked what their best deal was - $185. I asked to be connected to the cancellation rep, because that was more than the service was worth to me. The cancellation rep looked at my account, noticed that I was on the promo rate & offered to renew me at a new promo rate of $85/year - the increase supposedly due to a "royalty fee".
So for the price of a few minutes on the phone, you can get the promo rate or just accept their "best offer".

The story they gave me when I did my subscription was that in order to do the promo rate again I had to put a new credit card on file...So I did, I guess they feel some people don't have more then one credit card?Haha
