It's just the angle. It clears the bumper.

Love the Duratracs however if i did it over again i would go with the 285's rather then the 315's. I just got back from a road trip and milage def. suffered! last year i did a 2000 mile trip without the 315's and avg. milage at 64mph on the interstate was 18.5
This week i may have got 15mpg if i'm lucky. even with the Jet module, my trans. was downshifting on any decent grade. if i keep the H3, then i will be getting a set of take off 285's to mount on my stock wheels for road trips. for local, daily driving, 315's arent a problem.

Good input! Thats why I'm going with 285's and not 315s. You got 18.5mpg even with the 33's on there? I get like 18-18.6 bone stock with stock 32's. I imagine with an airdoc and maybe a jet module I can hit 20-22 (being optimistic here)

I went with 285 Duratracs too & have had no difference at all in gas mileage or engine performance. I'm very happy with mine and am averaging 18-19 mpg but if I was really concerned with mpg I'd be either riding a motorized bicycle or pedaling it down the road. For what I use my T for (commuting to & from work, freeway driving throughout the state and the occasional hard-core wheeling/rock climbing that I do), the 285's work just fine for me.

Well I've got a tdi Volkswagen that gets 60-62mpg highway.. so thats what I use when mileage is a concern. But I've read that going to 35's will automatically put your mileage down to the 14-16mpg highway range. Which really sucks.

I really really appreciate your input on the 285's though. Thanks man. I'm pumped to hear that the 33" duratracs wont hit my mileage at all

Thanks for the input. I also didnt purchase my H3 for fuel milage. I posted the info for folks that look at other guy's mods and like to duplicate like the 315's. Some are not aware or pleased with the change in performance and milage loss after adding larger tires. this might be important for folks like me that use the H3 for long road trips.

Marksteven,
I agree. I just threw that comment in because that's what all the guys with 315's always say.

Default Dura Tracs

Just got LT265/75/16's. Replaced the factory RTS's which were also P rated, w. Front end used to dive when braking, thats gone now. What a major difference in ride and they look great.
