RE: WOW...what a MPG improvement!!!!
I am having the same problem.
Brand new in June2006 I was getting about 15 mpg. About two months later, I put on a Gibson exhaust and Airaid CAI and that bumped me up to 16.5-17. Now that is all with about a 50/50 split of city and highway driving. In early November, the exhaust manifold blew and baffle material fell into the catalytic convertor. Back to the dealer for repairs and suddenly I'm lucky if I get 13. The last fill up showed I was getting 10. All with the same kind of driving. The dealer plugged it in and said the computer checked out fine and that's all they can do. I call BS.
So far they have explained it to me as being caused by the blended ethanol gasolinesold in the area (even though my county has no ethanol just theirs), agressive driving (even though I drive the same to get 10 as I did to get 17), cold weather (despite a week in the 50's when I pulled off a whopping 12), etc... Unfortunately for me there is only one Hummer dealer in the state so I'm kind of stuck. Supposedly they are talking with some special techs at GM to figure out what it could be, but this is getting old fast.
I could take 17 even though they advertise 20. But 10? That's just f'ing crazy. To be honest, I've already been turned off from getting another Hummer anything. Hell, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm leasing this one it would be gone already.
Does anybody have anything concrete I can take to the dealer and say "Check this"?

Did you know that H3's depreciate approximately $10,000 their first year?
Think the bad gas mileage has anything to do with it? Absolutely.
Enjoy.

RE: WOW...what a MPG improvement!!!!
Just to inform this 66KustomKat guy,( I mean moron, sorry)
I bought my H3 in october 06 and I have now 14000 miles.
I have had an offer to buy it for the price I paid it.
OK, I know that I am in France and that the H3 is almost impossible to find here except if you want to wait 6/8 months. But to this day I have heard NO ONE saying that the H3 is UGLY, Hell, even in MONACO where you can find the most exotic cars in the world people are stopping me and giving me thumbs up all the time.
and mind you gas is twice the price here than in the States and the price of the H3 is more than the double.
