a lot of "ifs?"
if i were younger, then i spent lots of time fixing
if its cheap
if i had prices on probable parts i might need, transfer, diffs, etc
if i could actually do necessary work
if i didnt need to trust it on long trips
if the body was solid

if i just wanted to beat around and not have a lot to loose assuming, cheap

the beat goes on,,,and on,,,

drtom you may be wrong. My theory is it depends on how it was driven for those 100K miles. You could buy one with 20K miles but if it was driven off road in swamps, mountain climbing, mud racing, and whatever else people do with their HUMMERS, I would take the one with 100K miles that was highway driven first. Because those 20K miles are all hard miles and the 100K miles are easy miles. I bought my HUMMER H2 from a 60 year old doctor with 58K miles and I'm sure but not positive that he didn't off road it (he told me he didn't). I now have 73K miles and I haven't had the least little problem with it yet. I see people posting here all the time with low mileage on their HUMMERS having problems. Maybe I got lucky. But I don't off road it either and I put 15K miles on it in 8 months.

This is just my opinion on mileage and HUMMERS.

Default vetteman u r rite,,,and so am i!!!

based on the available info in the orig post, i have no idea of conditionn or past treatment so i just gave an opinion, just to conribute ideas.

after 100k, im getting ready to fix something!!

actually at my age im not building anymore.

thats why i bought 37k h3,AND ext warr,,gettin lazy!!

in fact if a couple money deals work ill be looking for a NEW h3/?h2???? in the spring.

my brief affair with h3 got me hooked like many others
and i would LOVE, LOVE to start out with about 11 miles on speedo!!! (not 100k!!!) for the above reasons.

btw i built and drove an 80 mustang 460 (lincoln 1970 donor) for 10 years, fun ride, when i was 53, now 68.

If its been taken care of properly for those 100k's, then maybe, the price gotta be good.

but you dont want to buy an old dog to spend the rest of your life repairing it.

In a way I was wondering about getting an older H2 vs newer H3. Something like a 2003 H2 with 70-100K or an H3 2007 with under 50K (both seem to be around $18K)
I have nothing specific in mind cause I don't have enough money to even buy a toy HUMMER.
I'm leaning more towards the H3. My brother has a Suburban and it's fun to drive for a while but I could imagine it would be difficult to drive every day.
