Would this be a good buy?
Hello new to hummers.
Idk just randomly really wanted a hummer and this guy I work with is selling his. I was wondering
2008 alpha h3 is a good buy for 9,000? I think he said might have 130,000 miles or so I'm just curious how many miles can this beast handle?
Thanks

ahh okay. Let's say it is u still think it's a good buy? Just so weird I drive this toyota camery and have like 200,000 miles or w.e so much more but still alive and kicking. Just wondering if a hummer can do the same with proper care

Yea well he did tell me check engine light does come on but goes off he doesn't know why? He says if it's on longer than a month or so he will take it in. But he's honest. Looks in good condition from the outside. Anything I should look for and curious what miles u guys got on your hummers?

You should check all the complaints on carcomplaints dot com and maybe you will change your mind. I wouldn't touch one for myself. I just bought a 2004 H2 with 164K miles.
I'm a retired mechanic so I avoid what looks to be potential BIG TROUBLE. As the other person said scan for the code and lets see. Multiple missfires like P0300 and up...your looking at head problems fer sure. As for longevity - naw the Camry is much more problem free by a long shot. But then its meant to be. Hummers are not like some million mile survivalists by any stretch of the book here. They are not some drive it till it drops style of vehicle much is the way I drive my vehicles LOL! Then again..when you have 14 vehciles (all running) I can play that game. Do some more research. Time is on your side unless its a real killer price. But beware of killer repair prices as well.
Check out the site I mentioned.

Not sure dionkraft knows what an alpha is or that it has a v8 not an I5.
No head issues with the Alphas.
On the other hand a check engine CEL unchecked for a month! That would tell me the owner doesn't maintain it very well...
