Default Wont go into four wheel drive HELP!

I have a 2005 Hummer H2 and when I go to put it into 4 hi lock the light just keeps flashing and it never completes the switch. Any ideas to how to fix this. Thanks in advance.

I have a 2008 H2 and found that I couldn't switch out of the "everyday" setting for 4 wheel drive. An inspection revealed that the transfer case mode selector switch had shorted. The switch itself cost $342.96 and labor was one hour. The switch number was 25878427:switch (04563-CT). I hope this helps.

Pretty much only two things it can be. Asanti just listed one of them. the other is the actuator motor bolted into the side of the t-case. Mine when bad, it was about 160 dollars to replace. took two minutes to bolt in myself and voila. problem solved.

Is there any way you can check to see which it is? The motor or the switch.

I know this may be obvious but just in case.....

when switching modes, be sure that you are in neutral first.
