Default Who has an H3 Alpha? Reliable?

I am looking at purchasing one with 132,000 miles on it. Wondering how many miles you guys have on them? Didn't know if there is anything I should look out for when purchasing. What's the average mileage these things are known to last up to?

It depends on the attitude of the previous owner(s). Dedication to routine maintenance is key! There are a few things somewhat unique that need focus, such as frequent transfer case fluid changes ,keeping sun roof drains clean (if so equipped) and attention to cooling system maintenance. Other than that, they are pretty much like other GM vehicles.I am aware of a couple that have over 200K and several that have over 150K. Check it out carefully and good luck.

Aren't these motors the same as the other 5.3 GM platforms? I figured they were pretty stout to my understandings.

Yes, they are part of the "all aluminum" family with a few unique external parts such as the oil pan for chassis clearance.

Sounds about right to me if it has a rust free undercarriage and the skid plates are not beat up.......have some fun! It is pretty easy to get a significant amount of additional hp out of the little buggers.
