Where is the dang XM module?
I'm trying to install a Bluetooth kit into my 07 and I have looked everywhere for it. I have Monsoon, Nav, and XM. First I dropped the glovebox door expecting it to be there. It's not. Then I pull off the faceplate over the radio expecting it to be there. I found what I though was the XM but it is not. Apparently this big box beneath the radio is OnStar or something. It has four connectors across the top labeled J1, J2, J3, and J4. But after I realized that the plugs didn't fit, I tried the radio and XM was still working with this box unplugged. I am at a loss so I come to the experts. Any idea where the XM box is? Thanks.

never gave it a thought but the band buttons for am,fm,xm are all on the radio. must be in there?? i never pulled mine, in the 10. my 07 didnt have xm.
skip the above! i think i remember some conflicting comments, different places, different years. better search more. my book shows digital back of glove box,??
im just guessing. cant find it in my download stuff.

Yeah, there is a flap above the glovebox that doesn't look like it will move. Once you drop the glovebox down you have to pull down on the rear (towards the front of the truck) and it will come down and the XM box is above it. You can reach the connections without having to take the box down...
Sadly my kit didn't work anyway. Guess I'll have to call them Monday to troubleshoot. All I got was noise like engine interference, but got it even when the engine wasn't running. Bummer.

OK, here are a few pictures of the location of the XM receiver.
First is the glovebox dropped down. Just remove the tether and squeeze in on the sides to get past the stops.
This picture shows the flap above the glovebox area. It doesn't look like it pulls down, but grab the edge and pull down and it does.
This shows the glovebox and the flap both in the down position.
Now if you put your head down by the glovebox and look up into the cavity, you will see the XM box. The harness is easily accessible and faces the drivers side of the vehicle.
The BlueFusion Bluetooth unit I bought just plugs in to the XM harness location and the XM plugs right back into it. Other than that, the only other wiring needed is to run the microphone to wherever you want it.

It has potential to work great. It uses the XM1 channel to control the Bluetooth. I installed mine and it didn't work. I called their Customer Support and they are sending me out a new harness. Can't beat that! I'll let ya'll know.
Here is their website: BlueFusion Car Kits
I bought my unit a lot cheaper on eBay but they still support it.
No Bluetooth, and no backup camera support are the two biggest things that bother me about my stock Nav unit. Hopefully this will work until I am ready to drop bigger bucks for an aftermarket unit. Doing research on the Android units.

Man songman you are a funny funny guy!
You say this to H3Alpha21:
But you go out and spend $250 on a bluetooth unit for your OEM Nav??
Very interesting... But I think I'll just hang on to that $150-$200 and put it towards an aftermarket double din head unit with all the buzzers and whistles (BU camera/Bluetooth/NAV/Etc) "someday". Right back at ya songman
