I know this is crazy! But my dad recently bought me an H3 and he really wants one for himself, but he thinks they're too bad for the enviornment etc etc,

I know that Raser Technology is developing the 100 MPG H3, and we contacted them to ask if it is available to purchase but they didn't respond.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any companies that convert Hummers to electric or something??

You don't want an electric H3, a Diesel conversion is a much better technology application in this case. A 2.5L Turbo Diesel would be sweet! My favorite would be one from an old late 80's MB 190D 2.5 Turbo, same in-line five layout as the H3 too!

Why not just augment the existing H3 with an electric recubant bike for local, single passenger errands? Or better yet a mountain bike with racks. I "augment" by taking the train to work everyday.

But what do I know, I'm just an engineer not a politician.

 

He would love a diesel H3, right now his main car is a diesel Jeep Liberty which he loves but he's looking for something cooler/more luxurious now. He loves Hummers but he drives a LOT so he wanted something more fuel efficient... he wants a Toyota Tacoma but apparently even the H3 has cleaner/less emissions than the Tacoma.

There must be some place that converts to electric or diesel.. apparently the "100 MPG eletric Hummer" from Raser has more power than the stock gasoline H3.

 

depends how he drives. the H3 performs beautifully on gas on highway stretches of road. although you can always avoid deisel and get a LPG conversion done. not that id recommend it.
