Default When I get stuck & in 4h -clicking noise??

A while ago I was briefly stuck in the snow - had it in 4 hi switched around to 4low etc but had a clicking noise. It reminded me of my Ford truck when anti-lock brakes would click when in 4x4 and tried to stop.
Anyway, I had the U joint replaced recently as well.
But, when I was a little stuck in the mud yesterday when I accelerated there it was again...that clicking noise!? Anyone with any ideas as to what it might be? I dont want to be in the middle of no-where and clicking away in the mud.
Appreciate any feedback.

Depends on how loud it it is but I believe it's normal. I hear it all the time and it lets me know I'm locked in beside seeing the light.

It might be your traction control. Mine makes that noise when the tires are slipping

Default No clicks here

I spend a lot of time reading on forums. I have never before heard of clicking sounds that were considered normal. I have never heard any clicking sounds in any mode.
I would consider clicking sounds as a trouble signal, something wrong, malfunctioning.
I will be glad to attempt to duplicate exactly what you are doing/ experiencing.

Whether normal or not, it would be nearly impossible to diagnose a "clicking sound" without more info?

Default No clicks here.

I tried it today,in the rain,in a wet weedy field,up hill and down,turning in circles,spinning tires,every conceivable mode,forward and backup.
No clicks. How do you do it.
Should i go in for service?,or you?
If somebody always gets clicks and somebody never does, one has a problem worth discussing.

I have a number of vehicles so havent had the opportunity to drive and try to reproduce the clicking sound...but I am with you ...I dont see clicking as a normal thing.
A buddy of mine suggested it is probably just the traction control clicking in and out but I'm not buying that either.
I seen a video on youtube a little while ago where a number of 4x4's were going through a mud hole and an H1 made a similar noise I noticed.
When I get a chance I will try to find that one again.
