wheel spacer
Just installed my 35's and noticed the rubbing for the first time. So I went through the forums and read about using a 1" wheel spacer. Has anybody used them or know where I can order one for the H3?

RE: wheel spacer
Ended up getting a pair from the local shop. Only 5/16 I believe, they did the trick and for $5 couldn't beat it. After taking the 35's off to put the spacers on I just hope the girlfriend never gets a flat while she has it. I told her don't even bother just call for help.

RE: wheel spacer
just got back from an aborted attempt to install different rims on my H3 but the inside of the wheel rubbed the calipers. I know spacers would have solved the problem, but Discount Tire won't install them. Apparently, they are bad news, can anyone shed light on this? I really wanted those rims and they were listed as a fit, but 1/4 - 1/2" of caliper metal disagreed...

RE: wheel spacer
adding spacers that do not have a set of new lug bolts on them could be dangerous because they do nothing but move the rim farther out thus decreasing the amount of usable lug bolt threads you have left. Use too big a spacer and you will not have a safe amount of threads left for your lug nuts.

RE: wheel spacer
A 1" spacer sounds huge. When I put 19" rims on my benz they rubbed the shocks when I turned, so the tire shop installed ~3/16 spacer, it was very thin but did the job. Most of your larger chain shops wont install them. The shop I went to was in the ghetto but they had crazy good deals...which is a good secret, I saved a few thousand $$'s over the last 2 sets of wheels by taking a trip to the other side of the tracks. .
You can buy spacers on line and install them yourself too. Just google it.
