Yep. Squeeze the rubber ball really hard!!! They are a joke. Luckily there is plenty of room to behind the grille to mount a real horn!!! Some people have gone to twin horns. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...002595/c-10101 I'm gonna do a truck air horn this winter.

I've got that one. Dennis told me about it....It's loud, and a lot better sounding. The price is right and it installed real well. One on each side of the hood latch. I found anopen hole on each side there. I used an in line splice to the green wire, and grounded the horns together. That way I didn't need to cut the factory connector.

I replaced the single H3 horn with high & low tone "Highway Blasters" from Autozone. It doesn't really sound like a big rig as described on the packages, The sound is more like a big Caddy dual horn. Much better sounding now!

That's too funny WrongWay...I feel your pain because I had an audience when that embarrassing moment happened to me. I was driving the kids home from school when I got behind a woman who thought the No Left Turn sign did not apply to her and her Volvo. As traffic was backing up behind us my patience ran out and crowding her bumper had no effect on her. So then it happened, I rared back, mashed the horn button and out came this "foooowt!!" I could only imagine the those behind me laughing at my dying cow sounding horn. I wonder if anyone at HUMMER/GM thought about that before they turned that horn loose on the street?
