What will this do to resale value and parts?
Sad news it is. Questions I have are what do you think this will do to resale value. How hard will it become to get parts. Most of what I read says resale value will drop. I dont plan on selling mine just might want to sell my 06 h2 quick and buy a 08 h2 later if price continues to drop.

I seriously doubt there will be much impact on resale value. It's already pretty miserable, so there's no far to fall. Parts probably won't be an issue. I can still go buy Oldsmobile parts at the dealer, so I doubt it will be much different either. Fortunately they're not rare enough that we can't find a few in salvage yards as well.

They only sold 325 of them in 08! Did you guys know that? Oh well, I just got mine so I don't care. As a matter of fact I just ordered my Airdoc intake and getting exhaust done this weekend. Installing headers if I get a chance too. I have the headers just not the time or the heavy duty tools to break those nuts off the cats. Might have to heat them up or break them.

pretty much it is going to be the body, and specific stuff related to hummer that may start to fade away, but for everything else, engine, suspension, and so many other parts, it is all standard GM stuff that there will be parts for a very very long time.
so no worries

They sold 325 in DECEMBER of 2008, not the entire year. December of 2008 was the worst month for every automaker across the board anyways.

Look at it this way, every time a body style was updated by GM, the old truck was discontinued. Did you hesitate purchasing a leftover model? I never did. This is NO different, the basic running gear is stock GM and will remain available. The body parts will be available for ten years minimum and beyond that there most likely will be aftermarket at a minimum. I plan on mine being junk in ten years, so I don't really care.
As far as resale is concerned, no vehicle is an investment, they are all a loss. The Hummers may actually increase in value if the brand is dropped. They are a bit different than a Saturn so will have more to offer as a classic or collectable. IMHO
