Meh everybody complains about not enough power. Funny thing is, I've never had an issue with the power yet. And certainly not while I'm in 4low.

If i could drive in 4lo at 65 MPH on the hi-way i would. Put 35's on an H3 with a stock 5Cyl. and you will feel it.

Not a big deal with city driving, getting on the Hi-way passing Semi's, climbing hills, towing, etc. you will notice the diff. everyone running 315's with a 5cyl. deals with it.

Hey, its not made for that! So when we modify them beyond design you have to deal with the shortcomings. I have 315's drive some interstate twice a month for a couple hours, city driving, deercamp, mud occasionally and I do know I wish I had a little more get up and go but I still wouldn't trade it for anything else on the market!!!! I want to go fast and pass and that other stuff I take my 07 5.0 Mustang!!! But seems I still jump in the Hummer every time!!! Its not that big of a deal!!

WOW, where did you get a 2007 Ford Mustang 5.0L?
I would love to see pix of this very rare car!

What exactly did you have done to it to add diasplacement to reach 5.0L?
Bore or stroke or both?

A 2007 5.0 eh?

Aside from that slight anomaly, some h3's come STOCK with 35's.. so how is it not made for that?

85_305, no "STOCK" H3s ever came from the factory with 35s (315s). They did come with 33s (285s) on the Adventure Package and Alphas with the OffRoad package.

We have personally had/have 4 different H3s with 35s (granted 3 of the 4 are Alphas) and I can say that you will notice a difference in performance (slower, searching for the right gear, etc), mileage (drop overall) and handling (actually We think they handle better with the wider foot print of the 315s).

All that being said, We wouldn't change back to smaller tires. Better looks, Better Off Road, and a better ride (taller tires soak up more of the bumps). We are now in the process of saving for 315s for Mr. Blue (285 Duratracs now that came on Mr. "T").

It is TOTALY up to the individual HUMMER owner!

Tainter,
But if you add a cold air intake and Cat Back wouldnt you gain the MPG back that you lose with adding 315s?

Would getting your PCM reflashed correct the shift points?
