What DON'T You Like About Your H3?
#92
I guess I'm coming to this game late, because I ended up on page - 10
I would love a six speed on my 07 h3. My current 5th gear is too tall for slight hills
A shorter 5th and then a ever so slightly taller 6th would be perfect.
Removable rear head rests, so I could see out the back
I bought the adventure package and Nav system and NOT to have an altimeter is a huge over site. This is a off road vehicle.
A woman who doesn't nag and makes great money and wants to make me happy all the time
. . .sorry, i got off subject there.

At it's price point, there seem to be some options missing and/or options that should be standard. In no particular order:
No rear set vents or dual climate control.
Rear view camera (seriously limited vision out the rear) should be standard.
No steering wheel stereo controls.
Power window buttons in '06/07 are in a stupid location (fixed in '08+).
Cheap plastic handles (as mentioned in another recent thread).
I5 - should be V8 standard, and more powerful V8 for the Alpha package.
Stock tires are kinda lame.
Would like to see faux wood or even black plastic as options instead of the standard brushed metal on the dash/center console area.
I don't like that Hummer was closed and GM hasn't resurrected the line, I'd be just fine with "Chevrolet H2/H3". Never really cared about the "Hummer" name, I just wanted the offroad capability in a package nicer to drive than a Wrangler Rubicon.
The exterior plastic trim around the windshield with the cheap plastic clips is kinda lame. One of the clips on mine is broke and I've never messed with the trim in any way.
DIC shows far less information than other GM trucks.
Otherwise just some nit-picky things like wanting a non-chrome option for the grill on non-tactical versions. All in all, my wife's Avalanche is much nicer - both made by GM, similar price range, and all things considered you get a lot more truck with the Avalanche. I prefer my H3, wife prefers her Avalanche, but for the price of a new H3 (when they were available) you'd think GM could have at least offered more optional niceties.
It may sound like I'm more interested in luxury SUV stuff or appearance items. That couldn't be farther from the truth, but other than wishing the adequate I5 was a V8 all my don't likes are on the appearance/creature comfort/plastic junk side. Chalk it up to another GM product that got it 95% right then cheaped out rushed the design at the end. I really think GM would have addressed most/all of these in a second generation H2.

Major complaints:
Back window doesn't open for carrying 8ft boards home for any "around the house" projects.
Rear seats don't fold completely flat
Standard radio display is lame.
Would like a hood insulator on the backside of the hood.
Rear swing gate trim is too hollow...needs sound deadener in swing gate.
As someone else stated, the steering could be a bit tighter, but it's not bad.
Stock tires were lame for winter traction....after changing them, traction was 100 times better!
Overall, I really like my H3 and will be buying it in June when lease is up.
