Default What to do, what to do??

I have someone wanting to trade his 2003 Base H2 with 39,700 miles, and all original equip, straight across for my H3. He had it for his business but never really used it...more of a tax write-off. What are your opinions on this deal??

What are the mileage and condition differences?

I have 55,000 miles on mine and no major issues. I just had the dealer fix the brake grind and steering knock per the TSB's.
His is in excellent condition. Never had it offroad and also gave me a copy of his service record. He is the only owner, no major issues just minor warranty work done a few years back.

I prefer my H3 to any H2. I just think the H3 is a better looking vehicle. Now if it were an H1 or an HMMWV... Different story.

So this is really a question of which one would you rather have. I see H2s in the same price range as H3s now. If you like it and can live with the added fuel cost, go for it.

Songman hit the nail on the head. If you can handle the drop in MPG and the insurance isn't too bad, I think it comes down to how much you would like to have an H2. I'm in the same boat but thinking about getting rid of the wifes Liberty for a H2 and keeping the H3 for a two Hummer garage. I was hoping gas prices would have gone higher so the prices on H2's would drop even farther this summer.

if it's what you want, then it's a good deal.

2003 is unique, and it is low miles, and if in good shape, then you are going to get your money's worth from it.

They are fun offroad.

I did a nationwide search on autotrader for an '07 tactical and '03 h2. Found 6 tac's and 419 '03 h2's. Just my opinion, but I don't know that I'd want to trade one {what was it, only 1000 made?} as rare as yours for a base model h2 which you can find with the same miles as your h3, but 4 years older for the same or a little more than yours is worth.

Thank you for all the responses and opinions. I have decided that I can't let my 3 go. I did love how the 2 drove but I just can't do the trade. Maybe I'll just add a 2 in our garage eventually.
