Default weird noise

I have some strange puff noise that only happens one time every time I turn off the engine on my hummer h3 2006 kind of like it discharging the air out but it only happens once every time i turn of the engine. As a precaution I cleaned the throttle body, air filter and the maf sensor but none of that worked and it bothers me that i cannot find it. I've never heard this sound before and I need help to figure what the solution would be. I appreciate anyone that can help me with this.

i dont know if the 06 had an air pump but others do. its for exhaust oxygen??
like the old thermactor belt driven pumps.

dont know why that would cause it unless stuck?

It is a normal sound of your vacuum diaphragm releasing after you shut off the motor (and release the vacuum).

Some times it goes clunk, others puff, or pop, sometimes it takes a few seconds longer. More noticeable with an open intake.

If I remember right, you have an Alpha, so none of this would apply to yours.

Give yourself a lesson on how the EVAP system in the I5s work, I got better more interesting stuff to do.

Thanks doc, so where can i find the diaphragm and how do I make the popping stop so I don't have to hear that popping sound it's quite annoying lol . I have a K&n air intake installed and it hasn't done that 5 months ago when I first installed it. and thanks for the link to the thread it's greatly appreciated.

that explanes the confusion about the dieafram. there really is none, like the old vacume brake diaphragm. its a canister.
