This may be happening sooner then I thought

 

Weren't you planning a trip out to the left coast sometime anyway?

 

Yes, when my sister returned from her final deployment before going to shore duty. She's been in the Navy for about 10 years now, and has been out to sea on and off since.

This is her final return and she won't be going back out anymore after this. I just got an email last night from the ship saying she is returning on Memorial Day and they are having this celebration they call a Homecoming. It's either Memorial Day or the day after. Since this is her final return, I may just cancel my vacation plans all together and go surprise her since nobody has ever been there for it. I don't know yet.

The last time this happened I had cancelled a vacation as well. She always seems to come back when I have plans [&:]

We'll see.

 

Family is great about interfering with your plans.

 

Well, last time she came back she didn't want anything to do with anybody and considering the waters she's been through, I don't blame her.

I just priced plane tickets. I doubt I'd be coming unless I drove. Plane tickets for both of us round trip would be $800 to $1000 for that weekend, of course.

It would be cheaper to drive, literally.

I dunno. This is why I stopped making plans. They always change unexpectedly and then I always look like an *** when I have to cancel them.

 

Got to love them but I have had more vacations changed, cancelled or planned because of family than I can remember. Just have to go with the flow.

 

And you ever notice how you can have months to yourself and that one week you make plans is when everybody comes out of the woodworks?

Well so far I have the PA trip, Off-roading at the Badlands park two consecutive weekends, San Diego and a possible trip to WI to visit my mother or wait at home for my sister to fly in.

All that weekend/week. Things change too rapidly in this world. Everybody just needs to SLOW DOWN

 

San Diego is only about 1.5 hours south of me.
