Weak RKE

Weak RKE
Haven't found a thread for this issue. My remote keyless entry works but I have to be near the radio antenna (passenger side...not convenient). Someone mentioned that the radio antenna and the receiving ?antenna? for the RKE are wired into or near the BCM. The BCM and surrounding area have been exposed to water in the past (leak in sunroof drains). Does anyone have details (video, pics, etc) on the location and repair of the device that receives the RKE signal?
Thanks in advance,

Weak RFE
Yes,the batteries have been replaced. Should have mentioned that. Both remotes are weak. Suspect problem where signal is received(corroded terminals from the water exposure?). Looking for info on where to find the receiving end for the remote. Video, pics, detailed description....

Great pics HummerZ. Is Item 5 in the second image the radio antenna? Does it also server as the antenna/receiver for the RKE? Not sure what to glean from the first image. Is there a legend for the items identified in the images?

Both images showing the Body Multifunction Electric Computer- The Door Lock Remote Control Inside. (box with the 2 plugs, #1 diagram 1, #3 diagram 2). 1st pic shows the wiring harness connector and cover, 2nd pic shows the antenna + connector(#5) which appears to be separate from the radio. Remove your passenger side panel and take a look. Could be water intrusion/corrosion causing your problem?

Finally had some time to investigate further. Found the antenna. Connectors look clean. Out of desperation, changed batteries in remotes again to no avail. Talked to folks at Carquest, AutoZone with no success. Beginning to think I might have to replace the Body Multifunction Electric Computer. Any additional suggestions out there? Do other H# owners have more than 4' range on their remote keyless entry?

Here's a suggestion to consider. I had a Clifford Remote Starter installed (same makers as Viper and Python). The new key fob opens/locks doors as well as remote start. I get a 1000ft. range. The system is independent of the factory system so if it's a problem with your antenna, BCM, etc., it won't be affected. About $300 installed, so you could go that route with the bucks you would be spending on repairs and get a remote start as a bonus.
