I've own my H2 SUT for about 2 weeks now. Don't know much about the H2 in general and am doing a lot of reading. Now some people claim the the front end is "weak". Saying the parts up front are to weak to handle job. Is this true, if so what kind of upgrades can i do to it?

 

im not sure if "weak" is the correct word for the front end, but i am in the middle of replacing both upper ball joints on my 05 SUT. what a cluster!!! im not able to purchase the bolt in ball joints anymore. i had to order the whole upper A arm with a press in ball joint already in. im sure from here on out if one of the uppers goes bad it shouldnt be an issue buying press in ball joints. it just would have been nice to know before i had pulled the old ones out and had to wait for 3 days for the new parts to come in...

 

the front ends under the h2 is a 3/4 ton gm truck . so its at least better then the standard gm truck . the main issue is the weight of these h2s so if it slips and then grabs in a violent way it can strain some front end parts. but by no means is it week. i have 106k on mine and its very tight with no noise at all. just keep it in mind if you find your self playing in the mud and always keep it serviced ,lube is your friend.

 

After alot of research, i found out the owner before me on my SUT had a "Cognito" suspension installed. i emailed the company and they told me which upper ball joints were compatable with the ones already installed. other than that i havent had any issues with my suspension.
