Wasted $$$ on CAI & Magnaflow upgrades

RE: Wasted $$$ on CAI & Magnaflow upgrades
I haven't been avoiding the questions or comments from board members....I've just been on the road a lot recently.
Gas mileage seems a bit better for the highway...up to about 17 mpg. City has no improvement...maybe even a little bit of loss!!!
To answer one question...no I'm not venting. I really want to incourage a serious scientific discussion here to help push better understanding about what...if anything we can do to improve our situation as Hummer owners.
I will do a PCM tune next. But before I do I just wanted to get some solid numbers on mpg gains if any based on the Volant and Magnatech.
Finally...I figure I will probably need to drive my H3 for 48 months to recoup the upgrades. No complaints from me on that! The upgrades were worth it...my ego is happy.
To answer the question as to why I didn't install the Volant to save $$$$...well because I have a policy...leave the mechanical things to the mechanics...they have bills to pay too.
So question: Do you think a PCM will get me any mpg increases?

A tiny bit (up to possiblya full mpg) after a couple Hundred miles. The PCMtune will let your motor now take full advantage of what you have already done, but it needs the miles to learn your set up. You also have to get passed the BIG FOOT syndrome of enjoying your new found drivability and power curve.
To recap, I really don't think the mpg increase by aPCM tune itself would get you as much, butwhen you add it to yourmods that have already been done, it will move your mpg in the right direction. I would be supprised if you didn't admit that afterward, you wonder why you waited so long.
The PCM gig is extremely easy, you won't even get your fingers dirty.
