Default Want to know about the H3

I came across this site when I was looking for some reviews on the Hummer H3, I am 43 and I am a computer technician, I am married and I have 2 children, I have always liked the Hummer ever since the first time I saw one, (before they were cool) anyway I always wanted one but I couldn't afford it, not that I can afford the H2 now, but I am at a point in my life where I want something nice to drive, so I am thinking about buying the H3, I really like it and it is still a Hummer, are there any complaints about the H3 that I should know about? I noticed a large number of used H3's for sale with very low miles, is there a reason why people are getting rid of their H3 so quick. Another question is what the hell is up with people that hate Hummers, I checked the MPG on the Chevy suburban, and even the hybrid escalade, and they are both not as good as the H3, before people start pointing fingers they should do their homework, there are so many pickup trucks out there that are way worse than a Hummer, But I think deep down people are just jealous because they don't have one, anyway can anyone tell me some good or bad things about the H3.

Thank you.

I just love my H3 !!! Love the gas milage it gets. I have had no problems with it. They are well worth the money and if your wife drives it with your children you do not have to worry aboiut safety. My husband bought mine for me for he wantedour son and I to be safe, heck we can just run over cars if we want... lol They are lots of fun... I get plenty of looks, but I could care less, due to the fact that I am happy and can care less if everyone else regrets what they bought. good luck and always remember The H3 was voted #1 4wheeler and not only can it be as others call it a mall hopper, but you can do weekend outings with the family and not having to rent anything else to drive in order to enjoy yourselfs.

I would venture a guess most of us here on the forum are pretty happy with out H3's.
I am very happy with mine and the few bugs that the dealership has had to fix were by in large
minimal hassles.
I get 21 MPG on the highway with a very light foot and I go off road about four times a year
and I can a test to this vehicles amazing capabilities.
The link below is from 81, H3 owners and we had a voice in what we didn't like about these vehicles
This should help your decision

i think that the biggest misconception people have in regards to hummers is that they are these huge tanks that suck away the fuels of the earth without any remorse towards anybody that are trying to secure the future's fuel....HA i say, sure the h1 and h2 have huge weight to them and having a v8 to suck up that fuel does raise an eyebrow, but all the companies that manufacture vehicles have these exact kinds of vehicles as well. Now in reality, The h3 paired with the inline 5 is a rather interesting vehicle with a half decent miles per gallon ratio, sure it isn't that smart car but i sure as heck feel more confident and secure driving the h3 than that little "mouse on the road". I find that compared to other suv's (which i have had the opportunity to drive because of my employment) that the h3 i drive is actually better than most for fuel consumption. I find that the more i drive the h3 i find that it is more comfortable than my previous vehicles and more "fun" to drive. Now when i am home, however, during the summer months the h3 sits in the driveway a bit more often than not, but that is because i am out riding my harley...WOOOOOOOOOO[8D]

if you are looking to have fun with it then yes buy an h3, if you want something "nice and refined" you really should look into buying a luxury suv because your not going to find that in a h2 or h3

Remember what you are buying these are purpose built vehicles made for the off road. That's not to say they don't ride great on the road but you are paying for all the capablitlies of going off road. Having said that I actually have 2 H3s. My wife and I have a his and hers. She bought the H3 Alpha and it's for street use and I have the '07 H3 that's heavily modded for off road.
We both get great gas mileage and won't think about getting rid off these. The Hummer Haters in these parts are mainly against the H1, so you may or may not see any backlash about owning a Hummer.

I'm in complete agreement.
These are purpose built vehicles and when I see and hear of people that just add bling and drive them to the store, it
makes me wonder why they bought an H3 instead of another type of SUV. We all know there are many other vehicles that can
do that job very well. I am always amazed just what this vehicle can do when I venture off road

I read somewhere that the H3 is more fuel efficient then 85% of the SUV's out there

There are a little over 30 vehicles in the H3 class of SUV. The H3 is the 4th most cost efficient to own and operate.

I have an H2 that I off-road several times a year. On the road I would certainly consider it a luxury SUV. I have owned 4 Lexus SUV's and 1 Cadillac SUV and I will put my H2 up agains any of them for comfort and driveablity.
