Default Upgrading/replacing Front shocks

Within the last few weeks I have noticed a quick pop noise when taking tight turns. I think its my shocks that need replacing. They look stock still so at 160k I think its time for some new ones. I was looking at Rancho RS9000XL Series. Any other recommendations for shocks, or upgrades while i'm working on the front end? Thanks Guys!!

Default shocks

I dont think that the popping noise you are hearing has anything to do with your shocks.

However, if you are still looking for a much better ride, I would suggest looking into the Bilstein 5100 series shocks. I have them on mine and truly enjoy them with a better ride than I could imagine. Here is a link:

The more I think about this, the more I'm thinking its like a front end issue.

Common question and there is such a huge possibility list with the popping. I had it too but it seemed to go away.

Here are some of the possibilities I have read about over the years:

-skid plate bolts
-front end suspension bushings
-tranny bushing
-body mounts
-bad hubs
-front diff bolts

The list goes on and on. No one has ever really put their finger on what causes the pop. Some change various components and it seems to go away.

Good luck.

yeah, you're right................

Without being under the rig and looking around for any obvious issues, its hard to pin down to any one system or component.

The pop (only one) happens when there is a **** in weight on the vehicle. It happens every time I turn to the right, but about 1/3 times I turn to my left. Not curves but when I make a tight turn.

I'll keep swapping parts till I find it. lol I'll check my bushings.

My truck (06 H2) makes a pop noise when I turn left mostly when it's cold out...I tightened everything that could be tightened and the noise is still there...I've been told its the early signs of my hub bearing going bad...I just bought a set of Timken hub bearings (supposedly an upgrade from stock) off parts geek for $158 each which is a great deal since world PAC wants $240 wholesale...I will let you know if it fixes my issue once I install them...

I doubt it's shocks...atleast on my truck as my shocks (fabtech) are all less then a year old and have only been off roaded once...
