Re-visit the fix on the trailer hitch wiring. You may have missed something. That's where I would start.

Does your cruise still work?? I would think that it won't if there is a issue with the brake pedal switch. If cruise still works then maybe there is a short in the wiring somewhere. Does lifting up on the brake pedal do anything? Perhaps the brake switch is sticky or needs adjustment.

X2, H3s have a know issue with the trail harness rubbing thru the insulation and shorting out. Sounds like you have already found it. Make sure that you have "fixed" it properly by islolating each wire separatly, and shrink wrapping each wire individually.

Let us know if you have further issues once you check it again.

PS, glad to see 04colyZQ8 knows his GMT 345 stuff once again!

Default "the fix"

i posted this somewhere last year.
if you have not had a failure YET, just reach the cable from underneath , lift and push forward to unhook the clip that causes the stress. leave it free and youre safe. if you made a repair,,DO NOT reuse the clip.
if youre a fraidy cat you might need to tie it loosley
