I'm having trouble finding the exact part number for a Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) for my 2006 H3. If anyone knows the part number, that would be great.

Also, I will be installing it myself and wanted to know how exactly to get to the module. Do I need to remove the right side dash panel and it's right there?

If you remove the dash side panel on the passenger side it is right there.

Why are you replacing it?

 

Replacing it since the communication to the TCCM or button selectors is telling the transfer case to go in 4 wheel hi lock and it won't go out of lock, even though the indicators of the buttons say it is out of lock. I was told by a few places that it was either the t case motor encoder, TCCM, or the button selector switch. Already replaced the motor encoder (didn't fix) so just ordered the TCCM.

The problem is that the car is locking on tight turns since the t case is in hi lock with the power distribution of 50/50 not 60/40.

 

When asking any question, we NEED the model. There are 2 different TCCMs, one is for the Adventure/Lux Off Road lower range T Case, the other for everything else. So...... without that info., you/we have a 50% chance on getting it right.

 

broken fork?

 

The plastic fork was replaced a month or so ago.

 

if you pull cover, get access to it you will have the info you are asking for.i assume its marked.

 

Update: I installed the new TCCM. The problem still persists.

So I looked a the invoice of when I took it to the Chevy dealer. They told me that the motor encoder and TCCM had to be replaced, this is verbatim what the invoice said:

Customer states vehicle will not move when turning RT or left
When running towed in
Code C0306. Unknown 4WD position control
Encoder motor shorted or grounded in control - necessary to
Replace encoder motor and transfer case control module
$1240.00

Has anyone had experience with Code C0306? I did a little research but I need to do more, but what I found so far is that I need to clean the ground wires that connect to the motor encoder.

 

oh boy,
i read "somewhere" that you can pull the motor and check it for proper movement. dont know where? you can run the buttons and see shaft movement.

anybody know more?
