Does anyone know whats wrong with my transfer case if i unhook my front drive line and put it in 4h 4h lock or 4lo lock it doesnt move it locks in the light changes to whatever button i push and when i put in gear it sounds like something is dragging in the case if i put it in nuetral can hear it turning from there i cant put it in park without grinding 4hi lock spins faster than 4lo lock if something is broke why does the front drive line work

Nothing is wrong. The H3 is a permanent full time AWD/4X4. The PCM controls the TC through a module that knows when the front end is not functioning, and to prevent further potential damage you get what you got. Moral of the story, hook the front drive shaft back up.

We've been reading this over since day one. One question was the noise going to park. Must be because its turning with no load to stop it,but thats not the problem.
The rear drive gear or its connected parts are broke. Since the front drive works. Its complicated but i had,with help, been into one a year back and saw the works.
The rear output gear is at the back end of the differential,the front gear drives the chain and must be allright. ITSa planetary differential and not easy to visualize.
