Traction Failed, Service Stabilitrac...but no CEL or codes?
Got a TRACTION FAILED, SERVICE STAB SYS message. No CEL, no codes (at least not that "my" code reader finds), just the Stabilitrac light on the dash. Stabilitrac is off all the time now. Any ideas before it goes into the dealer?

Why, you ask? There are numerous reasons for that message, and different ones for the 2006, and different for the low range T Case vs the standard T Case, because they use different TCCMs and PCMs.
One easy check is the electrical connector to the T Case actuator.
You might also try turning off the StabiliTrack and TC, then drive a bit and turn it back on later. If you shut it off, they both turn back on by default. You turn it off with the vehicle running and by pressing and holding the T Case button to the far right with the squiggly tire tracks for like 3-5 seconds.

Sorry, it's a 2008 Alpha, off-road pkg (4:1 transfer case & rear locker).
No matter what, as soon as it's started, I immediately get the "Traction Failed, Service Stabilitrac" message along with the Stabilitrac light on the instrument panel. Pressing and holding the traction control button DOES turn the Stabilitrac/Traction control off (message says "Stabilitrac Off", of course it was already off), but pressing it again at any point doesn't turn it back on or reset anything. Shutting the truck off and restarting does indeed turn it back on per default, and immediately gives the same error messages.
I will check connections this weekend (I hate this time change; it's dark when I get home), along with the wiring for the wheel speed sensors (another possible culprit according to another site). I may have to break down and have the dealer at least diagnose the problem.

I had this issue with a 11' Chevy Captiva sport. Curious thing was the booster had a leakage... or the the brake system fluid was passing to it and I had bad readings on the wheel sensors, don't remember very well, but the stability, ABS and TC went off after 2 or 3 warning beeps when I turned left, like if I was drifting hard... Really strange situation. I remember it was brakes and hub/wheel sensor related, maybe check your sensor and brake system???

and oh, I remember I screwed up the wheel sensor when I crossed a huge mud pit several times. It makes sense to me that the stability system failure may be sensor related, as it can have bad readings, and after receiving several warnings it may go off. That's what happened to mine. I don't know if the brake system issue was related or it was just another thing...

Solved! Believe it or not, it was nothing more than a blown brake light fuse! Awhile back, I had fabricated a new LED center brake light. Just recently, I realized I had no brake lights. So after replacing and then immediately blowing the fuse again, I started back tracking. Turns out that my splice had come un-taped and shorted, blowing the fuse.
I fixed the splice, replaced the fuse, and no more Traction Failed/Service Stabilitrac, and the Cruise Control works again as well (noticed that was out too).

Sorry, no pics of the finished unit, but here is what I started with:
The stock unit is red LEDs with a clear diffuser lens. These were white LEDs with a red lens. I left the red lens in place, AND left the stock clear diffuser lens as well. They're not quite as bright as the original, but are sufficient (and a helluva lot cheaper than the Chevy part!).
