Default Torsion bar adjustments...

Anyone have any pictures or diagrams of the torsion bar adjustments everyone seems to be using to level?? I am wondering what it's all about before venturing into anything...

Hi,
It's simple..People have done it and have gotten 1.5 to 2" of lift

The adjuster bolts are outboard of the torsion bars in the rear about midship...Jack up the front end, so both tires are off the ground..Crank on the two big bolts (one per side) clockwise, two full turns..this should be enough..Then get to the dealer and claim your alignment is out and have them do a realignment, or else your tires will wear out on the outside tread.

Do we know why they did not ship them as such from the factory?? Kinda worried about messing with them if there was a specific reason it sits like this...

i don't think there's a specific reason for the rake, i think it's more likely they simply left it that way to allow for adjustments. i was talking with my dealer's foreman this morning about this specific topic, and he didn't know of a reason for the angle. the engineering would take the entire adjustment range into account, so cranking them with the stock keys should have no impact on the stability or longevity of the suspension. it may have been as simple as trying to make it look more like an H2, most of which have the airbag rear suspension. nobody's really had one long enough to see long term affects though, but i seriously doubt changing the stock setup would create a problem for you. but, i could be talking out my a$$, since i don't own an H3, but i've seen one outside the Holiday Inn, and i've had mine cranked on the bus for over a year.
