Torn between my 4dr Sahara and a new H3T
I used to have a I5 H3 and honestly it did everything good, not great, not bad, but good. I have now a rather heavily invested Black 4 dr. Sahara with 6in. lift, 5.13 gears, and 37in Baja Claws. I dig it, but Im torn between dropping a hemi in it, or getting an Alpha H3T.
I already have an AWD in a BMW, but dont know if I want another AWD in the stable. Is it possible to but transfer case and all from at Colorado into the H3T to make selectable 2wd/4wd?
Alpha owners, how strong do you feel you 5.3's are? Has anyone contemplated a mild Supercharger?
I have seen an H3T locally that was so tastefully done with a 4in. Rancho suspension lift and 35's. Very clean and gave it a stance I rarely see in a lifted vehicle. It looked just right.
I look forward to responses.

AEV makes the kit and it drops right in. The new JK's engine bay was designed for a V8, but they nixed it just befor production for a minivan V6.
I have 5.13 gears and they do a good job.
Just got back form test driving the Alpha H3T and I can say it is more refined as is even a non Alpha H3T over a 4dr. Wrangler. I dig the interior and the chopped windows. I had a an H3 in 06, but the 5 cyl. just left me with a frown on me face.
I think the 5.3 was good, and pulled a bit more mid range and up top to where its tollerable, but a Vortec SC would make it more fun.
I have to get the pics from Don at Southern Off Road in Cumming, Ga. to post here of the H3T he did for some rather well off guy. It was just amazing.

Go with the H3T alpha! Jeeps are a dime a dozen. I can't drive 2 blocks where I live and not see a JK, they are everywhere. But everytime I drive by one, the driver's all stare at my truck thinking wtf is that? It's awesome!

There is a good thread on another forum about the full time four wheel drive vs all wheel drive as in your BMW. They are different.
The H3 has full time FWD with the ability to lock the center differential, your car cannot do that. Additionally, it has a transfer case with high and low range, another difference. The technology of the H3 harkens back to the early 70's from New Process Gear. It is not an all wheel drive vehicle, no offense intended, but there is a huge difference. You built a Jeep so I assume you know these differences but wanted to clarify for everyone else.
Having owned a number of Jeeps, they are great vehicles, your ultimate choice will depend upon your primary use. I chose the H3 Championship as it fit my needs.
My last Rubicon fit my needs well but I was sick of the Freedom top leaking all over my gear. The 5.3 loses about 1 MPG to that feeble six in the Jeep which required me to drop three gear ranges to make it up steep hills.
Yes you can turbo the 3.7, again, there is a thread on another forum with that very thing having been done. It is a strong engine.
Whatever you choose, you have two winners to pick from so have a good time in the process
