I have a 2007 Hummer H3 with stock rims and tires. I just had this problem pop up. When I turn the wheel sharply to the left or the right, the right front wheel will rub on something. Going in reverse is worse.

Any thoughts on what this could be?

 

u mite wanna turn sharply till it rubs,,,turn off your motor,,,put the e brake on.

get out and see whats rubbing

i think ure in a lock mode and hearing racket from the binding of the drivetrain

just guessin,,,stock wheels and tires dont rub

 

I had checked for rubbing previously and couldn't see it hitting anything. I checked and it was locked in 4wd, taking it out did the trick. I didn't even notice it, but the stereo installer must have hit it yesterday.

wow I would have been so pissed. how did you drive home? and I hope nothing is damaged!

 

Mine does that with 35's......it's the plastic piece on the rocker panel. I took the cap off the end and its much better now. I also had to remove my front mudflaps. My caster is extended all the way with alignment and the only way to fix is to shim the a frame and I am too lazy to rip into it.
