We were talking about this at work the other day, anyone know of anyone taking the stock hood vents and making them functional? Would there actually be a benefit to it?

Kind of like the ones we use in the Army. I was thinking, keep the stock hood vent, modify it and maybe cut the hood under it. Didn't know if that would do anything for it or not.

Nah,..I'm not tired of the fake louvers. They go nicely with the fake air intakes by the windshield, and the fake tire inflaters on the wheels.

Why change the look of a hummer?I think "In My Opinion"the hood louvers are a distinction to Hummer individuality.

I DON'T want to change the look, that's what I meant. Do you think I could modify what's there to make it functional and would it actually do anything to do so? I like the way it looks, don't want to change that. Was just a thought.

Well, I'd look at options, but not chrome or Jimmy Durante? How about a stainless rack with detachable lid, could use it as a bun warmer when tailgating? Or a hood scoop when hot doggin?

I'm not feeling that Hood Cowl. I'd stick with the louvers.

Pretty dang ugly! I agree with Gorilla, it would look a lot better with a big honkin' blower sticking out of the hood. Who cares what gas costs? We're all rich aren't we?

I always thought it was shaped like that to keep the tacos from sliding off?

I'd be interested in something smooth to cover it , but not the cowel look.
