The "p" stands for "passenger tire" (vs. LT which stands for "light truck tire"). The 265 is the metric size/diameter (32" diameter) of the tire as compared to the diameter of the tire in inches (ie, 33" or 35"). The "16" is the wheel size diameter in inches.

The bfg rugged trail ta is one of the OEM tires for the H3/H3T. The biggest size they make the bfg rugged trail ta for a 16 wheel is the 265/75R/16. So, you will have to choose a different tire if you want to go with a 33" or 35" tire.

33" tires would be LT285/75/16 or a wider LT305/70/16

35" would be LT315/75/16

The rugged trails would be OK for on the road tires but if you ever plan to take your truck off road you need a more aggresive tread.

Rugged Trails are the "suckiest" tire ever made...can't wait to get rid of mine off the '09. Almost worn to wear ind. at 20k, absolutely suck in snow and rain. Did I say how much they suck?

Default Mickey Thompson

Two months ago I decided to get some Mickey Thompson tires, 285s. There were the ATZ tires and I was told they would work good on the sand by online dealer. The tires absolutely sucked in the sand and I was going to sell them and buy different tires. I figured I'd lose about $200 in the deal. I emailed Mickey Thompson about their tires. It wasn't a nice email. To my surprise I got an e-mail from the vice president of Mickey Thompson and was told to call him so he could make it right. Make it right, he did. He told me the ATZs are not good sand tires and he would send me some that were good sand tires. I told him I was thinking of getting Dick Cepeks and to my surprise, Mickey Thompson bought out Dick Cepek years ago. He called a local tire distributor and send them the new Dick Cepek tires and all I had to do was go and let them switch them out, no cost to me. The Dick Cepek tires are the best sand tire I've ever had. World of difference on the H3. ATZs dug badly and caused H3 to get hot very quickly, Dick Cepek crawls on the sand with no problems whatsoever. My next set of tires, for my Z71, will be from Mickey Thompson because of the great customer service.
