I was wondering if any knew if the new bigger, strongerTie Rods Hummer came out with on the 2007's will fit on the 2006's
or do they have to have some kind of adapter etc. . Would like to get a spare set....!
Thanks again guys & gals !

RE: TIE RODS
They fit. You just have to do both the inner AND outer. No mix and match.
This is from a post by F5Fstop (a GM insider) elsewhere on the net.
25781473 Inner Tie Rod 16mm - List: $45.89; Trade: $34.42
15907712 Outer Tie Rod 16mm- List: $52.12; Trade: $39.09
I have been told these will fit all H3s. 2007 vehicles produced after VIN 108975 have the 16mm tie rods from the factory. Those who have had a complete steering gear with inner and outer tie rods replaced, may have the 16mm size rods.
2007 vehicles produced before that VIN number and all 2006 vehicles use a 14mm inner and outer tie rod. I have been assured the larger 16mm rods will fit into the existing gear used on the 14mm rods.
So, for 2007 vehicles after the above VIN number, you only need to replace whichever one you bust (inner or outer). For those 2007 vehicles built before the VIN or 2006 vehicles, to replace one with a 16mm rod, the other on the same side also has to be replaced.

I was told, but IDK cuz I have an 07 w/ 16mm tire rods, that the 14mm tie rods are silver in color, and the 16mms are black. So any of you 06ers, look at them, are they black or siver?? Just checking on whether what I heard was trash or true?
Thanks Gunner..........good stuff brud!

I was watching Daddy Daycamp the other day and they had a Hummer on it and they said something to the effect...not just another soccer mom playing out the commando fantasy...
I cracked up.............even though I am not a soccer mom... I do like the commando part. LOL
Anyways...
My rods are SILVER ! so its true... I will be getting the hefty black ones !
I am also still waiting for the new BFG KM2......my size won't be out until SEPT NOW !

RE: TIE RODS
I will be doing it in my driveway too...or on a dirt road...LOL
I am going to get 305-75-16..........unless I go to 17 then I think
they are available now. I have heard they are great tires for off roading/highway
they have the extra cuts in the tread to distribute the weight and stress..
alittle hum for the hummer...

They're not Fabtech's but they do give me a little extra peace of mind.
