Default thump when pulling away from a light

when i leave a light from a dead stop only, i get a thump about 5 ft when pulling away from the stop. Sound like its the middle to back half. If it was the yoke wouldnt it do it right away when pulling off and not after it move for 5 ft. Maybe the t case, how do these things work. Are they always in 4 wheel or do they start in 2 wheel drive.

The truck is all wheel drive all the time. As far as 5" goes are you sure it is not a certain speed or rpm? Does it do it everytime?

some times if you pulloff real slow it wont do it but most the time it does it.

It all most feels like a hard shift before it shifts into 1st gear

This may be a shot in the dark but.... if you have a swing out spare, check to see if its latched all the way, the thump you hear may be the tire swing out hitting the safety wire when you accelerate. Ask me how I know this

Mine kind of had a thump. Turned out to be body bushing mounts. Do a search on here for body mounts.
