Which of these wheels sizes for H3?

Measured the Hub diameter - surprise!
I had an opportunity to measure the hub diameter on my '08 H3 Alpha. As waynesoffroad stated earlier, it is 100mm, not 106.25 and not 108mm! This doesn't mean that you can't use wheels with hub bores larger than 100mm; it just means that if you don't use hubcentric rings with these larger-bore wheels, you may have to deal with vibration issues.
[ul][*]I am looking for rims with either a 100.5mm or 108mm hub bore, and 6 x 5.5" / 6 x 139.7mm lug fitment.[*]Wheel diameter will be 17" or 18".[*]For sizing/offset, I'll be looking at either
[ul][*]10 inch width/ET10mm, or[*]9 inch width/ ET18mm, or[*]8 inch width/ET30mm[/ul][/ul]
[blockquote]
Thissizing/offset should ensure that the backspace is the same as stock and ensure that the new shoes don't hit the suspension, and also don't significantly increase bearing load beyond the stock wheels.[/blockquote]
[ul][*]If the wheel I find has a 108mm bore, I'll use 108-100mm hubcentric rings to ensure that the wheel has a hubcentric (not lugcentric) fit. (FYI - I couldn't find hubcentric rings that fit a wheel hub bore other than 108mm onto a 100mm hub.)[/ul]
I'm considering the following wheels:
[ol][*]Helo 820 in 18x10 w/ 108mm hub bore, et10[*]Helo 821 in 18x10 w/ 108mm hub bore, et10[*]Helo 791 in 18x9 w/ 108mm hub bore, et18[*]Alba 477 (Drop) in 18x8 w/ 100.5 or 108mm bore, et35[*]Alba 688 (Crossroads) in 18x9 w/ 108mm hub bore, et10[*]Alba 688 (Crossroads) in 17x8 w/ 100.5 or 108mm hub bore, et30[/ol]
Which wheel do you folks think would look best on an '08 Black Alpha H3?
Appreciate yourinputs.

RE: Measured the Hub diameter - surprise!
hey rhino,
i just got some new wheels with hub bore of 106.25,but i dont have hubcentric rings on, and now i am getting somevibration particularly noticeable at low speeds (15-20 mph). i have looked all around but cant find rings with an OD= 106.25 & ID=100.6. do you know of any places, orcan ishave down a ring to make it fit an ID=100.6. THANKS.....

Unfortunately you're SOL. I have searched high and low, and only found hubcentric rings for 108mm-100mm.
There are lots of awesome wheels with 106.25mm bores that would be great candidates otherwise.
While there are some folks on this forum that have had Hummers (or 4x4s in general)for a while, I'm truly amazed that many with aftermarket wheels don't seem to have heard of hubcentric rings, much less use them. While it often isn't an issue at offroad speeds or city driving,a vehicle with perfectly balanced and centered wheels/tires on the highway is a joy to drive, maximizes the life of your rubber, and helps maintain better control of your vehicle at higher speeds. (Sound like an info-mercial?)
Recommend that you stick with the stock wheels or find aftermarket with 6x139.7mm/6x5.5in and either 100.5 or 108mm bore, and one of the following widths/offset:
[ul][*]7.5" width w/ 38mm offset (stock)[*]8" width w/ 32mm offset (protrudes out 0.5 inch further than stock)[*]9" width w/ 18mm offset (protrudes out 1.5 inch further than stock)[/ul]
These will ensure that your inner clearances are no different than stock, and that you aren't significantly increasing the wheel bearing loads that can impact their life long-term. (Maybe only matters if you own and keep your vehicles longer that 7 years or so...)
Maybe someone reading this can help their fellow H3 owners find some 106-100mm hubcentric rings. Or maybe someone looking for a business opportunity will recognize one when they see this...
Good luck!
