Importkiller - Why do you think your truck is getting such low mpg? Do you have realy big tires or have you made any mods that could cause it?
I was wondering what kind of affect the 20 or 22" rims would make on the mpg

RE: Tank-O-Gas Challenge
My last road trip netted about 330 miles before I filled it up. I think I remember it getting approx 17.5 or so on that trip. It could have been better, but there was some in town driving on that tank, and the majority of the trip was in the hill country, and I had to do a few full throttle passes here and there.
So far, we're happy with the mileage.

I have no clue why the mileage blows, going to the stealership next week to find out hopefully. I have not put my 35's on yet until I can figure this out, for now I am still running on the stock 265's. No mods done, bone stock 3500 miles.

Fuel pumps that are in the tank use the fuel to cool the pumps bearings. You can do damage by running out of fuel or running real low with an in the tank pump. I know this for a fact as far as Corvettes and Ford Tempos go and I see no reason it would not be true for all in tank pumps.
As far as gas mileage the H3 appears to be real sensitive to a heavy foot ( mainly due to its 4900 lbs mass and the heavy tires/wheels). I can get 19 on the highway and 17 in town with a light foot but it will drop to 15 if I do not watch it.
I would like to hear about gas mileage with 35" tires as I will be going with them in the winter.

RE: Tank-O-Gas Challenge
The last time I drove 379miles, 20 gallons to fill.
I'm quite happy I got this mileage since the last couple of times I filled the tank I was averaging 13 mpg.
Maybe it's the higher pressure on my tires and consistent speed (cruise control most of the way) helped.
