Synthetic Oil for Transmission and transfer case
Has anyone changed the oil for the transmission.transfer case, and rear end to good synthetic oil.Does it make the trannie shift any smoother, and run cooler, than the regular gm dextron stuff.Plus,is it ok to use synthetic there, will the warranty still be ok since its not the oem stuff gm puts in.Just like to know the pros and cons since my alpha is due for a change soon.Thanks.........

i would thing that GM used a Synthetic fluid in them to start with thats whats in the Vettes and camaro's .... from what i have seen i would have to say that in my opinion a syntheic is a better product anyway..... call your dealer they wont care oneway or the other what fluid you put in it.. they would have to prove that it was the cause of a failure before they can leaglely say it vioded your warnty and the only way to say for sure is to do submit the fluid for an analisus but are they going to know to do that NO ....As long as you run the same grade fluid in a synthetic you should be fine .. Thats what i`d do
BTW...Its ATF that is in them not oil
