Yep, I've seen that site and have wondered about that item as well, haven't seen any feedback on that particular one anywhere either. HMMMM, interested in the "Coming in 2010" add just above the sway bar disconnets, "Solid Axel Swap Kit" . Come on offroad escape SAS update !!

I've had a front swaybar diconnect on my H3 for about 1.5 years now (I built it). It really helps in the articulation department in keeping all four tires on the ground.

One thing that I would like to mention is that after one fairly serious four wheeling day, I did have a cv axle shaft pull out of the race in the outer joint. I don't know for sure that the two events are connected but it has made me a little gun shy about using my disconnect. The other H3 that was along that day had his swaybar disconnected and had a shaft pull out of the race also. Both incidences of the shaft pulling out happened within a week of the wheeling.

It makes sense that there's a limit to how much of an axle angle the CV joints can handle. At the very least, I wouldn't trust the CV joints to act as front A-arm travel limiters.

^lol at last part.

The fronts have a decent amount of travel (so does the rear for that matter). But if all you have to do fo 3-6" of extra travel in the rear is a <$200 upgrade, count me in.

Default why later?

Both incidences of the shaft pulling out happened within a week of the wheeling. he said;

why not when actually "stretching it"?

why a week later when ,just driving??

Ya that is certainly odd.. maybe it was pulled outta the sleeve/trans, and driving was just enough to rip it all the way out.

^Exactly. But I think the point he was trying to make is having the front end links disconnected MIGHT have been what pulled that cv just enough to tear the teeth out and driving ripped it all the way out. BUT, like you said it could be coincidence and could have happened to anybody given the right circuimstances.

Default Question About Disconnects?

Hi guys im new to this. I was surfing the sight's for ways to get more flex out of my H3. Who was making the disconnects for the Hummer's? I found one sight but it was saying they were closed or will be closing down soon.

Can you guys provide any help.

Thanks.
Ted.
