Suspending the rear driveshaft for towing.

you can flat tow, but not dolly tow. this is because the tcase in neutral disconnects it from the tranny, not the driveshaft, meaning that by having the front wheels strapped down you would prevent them from rolling, causing the driveshafts ad tcase to bind due to the rear wheels trying to spin. the only way you will be able to dolly tow will be by disconnecting the driveshaft. A normal 4x4 truck can be dolly towed because the tcase disconnects the front driveshaft allowing the front wheels to be locked down and rear spin. This is the same reason if you had to call a tow truck it would have to bea flat bed.

I would like to flat tow it but, 1. i already have the tow dolly and 2. With the weight of the H3 I would have to buy a brake system for inside. Blue ox sells one for about $1000. Looks like I'm going with disconnecting the driveshaft and tie it up to the frame.

also the reason you can park in a parking garage illegally without worry about getting towed, and either a ticket or booted. they could not tow you because it would require a flat bed which will not fit in a garage loaded. although I do not recommend trying that.

I tow mine without the supplemental braking system. I did purchase one, have it new in the box in the back of the H3. However, I use the exhaust brake on my RV for most of the slowing / stopping. That being said, there have been times I wish to heck I did have the braking system installed and working. It's wireless and I'm just too lazy to install and set it up.
