Suggested Mods?
Hey everyone!
I am new here just got a 2003 Hummer H2 lux edition was my welcome home present from my wife from Afghanistan. Only has 61,000 miles on it. I am thinking about a couple of mods:
Wraping the Hummer- Saw some pictures of Flat black and really like them
CAI- I am only getting 12 MPG and am hoping to get some more with a CAI
Exhaust- Looking for th sound, performance and increased MPG
Rims and tires- not sure what I should do.
Im also thinking of wrapping the trim with carbon fibre.
Any other mods you would suggest

Check out plasti dip if you want to change the color. Magnaflow, Borla Gibson and many others make nice exhaust. Goodyear Duratrac tires are really good. I doubt the CAI will gain you any mileage but it cant hurt. An electric fan kit will probably help more. Enjoy your H2 and it sounds like your wife is a sweety.

Welcome to the Hummer Forum! This is a great site for getting the best out of your H2.
Here are my top ten suggestions in order:
1. Change all fluids including brake fluid, power steering fluid...everything
2. Run a can of BG44 fuel system cleaner with good gas.
3. Check your air filter and change if needed (Note: I didn't say install a CAI)
4. Use Lexol cleaner and conditioner on your leather. Mine used all of the conditioner
5. CatBack exhaust - only change the muffler if the pipe is in good shape. Magna Flow here
6. Performance chip. I purchased a Superchip and noticed better performance and shifting.
7. Change shocks if they are original. I have Bilstein's and they are great!
8. CAI's are hit and miss and in my opinion. I have an Airaid but not currently installed.
9. Stick with 317/70R17 (35" roughly) tires. I have Goodyear Duratracs...
10. Change headlight bulbs if original.
I live in Centennial, CO so maybe I'll see you around!

Mine came with a magnuson supercharger kit already installed.
list of stuff I've done.
1. 6000k hid headlamps
2. changed the drl to led bulbs and linked so they turn on with the headlights but not when they are off.
3. external spare tire carrier with color-matched hard cover and license plate relocation kit.
4. JBA Ceramic Performance headers
5. BeCool Dual Row Performance Radiator
6. Dual Electric fan setup (I removed this and returned to stock due to heat issues while towing).
7. Bilstein 5160 remote reservoir shocks
8. I run Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2's on mine. I set it up for driving in snow.
wish list includes a front o.e.m. style light bar, set of general grabber fr's and black rims, performance muffler.

I finally got a K & N CAI FIPK..after installing it..there were noticable performance gains...however nothing yet on MPG savings...according to the vehicle data info..I am still averaging 11.7 mpg...plan on driving up to Dallas to have a custom dual catback exhaust installed, flowmasters, then down to Austin to another performance shop to get it tuned..the tuning is suppose to adjust the MAF Sensor and to the other mods, i.e., CAI and Catback...they also do "Dyno".....both of these two shops are reputable... but will see what happens
