Default Strange Idle and Temperature issue. HELP!

Hey guys,

About a week ago my 05 H2 started acting strange. I was rolling into a local convenience store and while pulling into the parking spot my truck stalled. It had been having some spotty revs similar to Davids issue so I figured the cleaning of the throttle body may be necessary. I started putting 93 octane in just to heat things up a bit and try to pep it up that way.

For the last couple of days the truck has been dropping all the way to 160 on the temperature gauge frequently when I get to about 3rd gear or so. And when I come to a stop it goes back up to about 210. While it happens it seems to cut out occasionally and pick back up. This doesnt happen every time but more and more frequently.

BTW I have not cleaned the throttle body yet as Im not sure the steps. If you think thats the issue, Ill research that process.

Please help!!

Thanks

Let the engine cool overnight, and see if you can move the fan by hand.... if your clutch is frozen that can cause some wild and wacky things... and you really described what has happened to me in another GM product in my past...

Thanks Muddydawg,

Are you referring to the fan clutch? Ill try to move the fan after it cools off. What was the issue and the necessary repair.

Thanks again!

Yes, fan clutch.... they do fail sometimes.... the one I had failed and it was impossible to turn....

as for repair.... for the price of the clutch you could go with efans....

Thanks again muddydawg,

I noticed another interesting issue today on the way home.

It seems when the temperature is fluctuating the gauge panel is also flickering quite a bit. In AZ it was difficult to notice at first but it happens only when the gauges are acting strange.
