Splitting factory video signal?

Splitting factory video signal?
I have an 08 Hummer H2 with a stock in dash dvd player that sends a signal to an overhead console monitor for the rear passengers. I have a great pioneer navigation system, on dash, not in dash that has a single AV input.
Can I somehow tap into the wire carrying the signal back to the oem monitor (which I know for a fact is not an rca and patch the signal over to the pioneer "on dash" nav? Like buy an AV cable which terminates to rca's, cut off the red rca and solder that wire to the video output leaving the factory radio?
any help would be great
