RE: Sorry guys, haven't been around much
thank you all!
muddy....
Sorry I didn't give more info in my original post...too damn tired to type[8D]Anyway, he has been having projectile vomit for two days so we went to pediatrician. He felt that Sean had something called pyloric stenosis. Basically the pyloric is an area of muscle between the stomach and the intestine, in some infants this are narrows and doesn't allow the stomach to drain...just like a stopped up toilet the stuff has to come out somewhere[:'(]. He told us to go the ER to have tests done. They did an ultrasound and x-rays but because Sean had so much gas weren't able to see anything so they admitted him for observation and so they could retest in the morning. The new tests showed that he did not have pyloric stenosis and did not require surgery...THANK GOD!!!! But, they did find another problem that is causing him constant pain and vomiting. Most infants when feeding develop gas in their stomach and by burping them they are relieved, Sean for some reason is developing gas in his intestines and not his stomach so there is no way for him to bur to relieve the pressure...so he is constantly suffering. None of the docs know of any way to fix this and basically told me to give him Mylacon (baby's gasX) to help dissipate some of the gas. This ain't working too good...poor guy screams 20 hours a day. We are seeing a Pediatric gastroenterologist on Friday...hopefully he has an answer for us.
