Yeah, pretty darn sure!!!

I added the scans of the 08 manual to my post above. The 09 maual has the exact same #s in it also so I didn't post it because that would be redundent.

Good luck on getting/finding any Dextron III!

Checked my manual and it says the same thing. I'm so damn confused now, guess I'll called up the Hummer dealer Tuesday and see what they're using.

I'll be "doing" my t-case soon on Mr. Blue with a synthetic something or other. I will also check with my HUMMER mechanic buddy to see what he/they (for 100K drivetrain warranty purposes) says.

Ok cool, please do let us know what you find out, because as it stands now I've had Mobil1 Syn ATF in my TCase for almost 1k miles now.

I believe that if you put in the fluid what the manufacturer's call for there shouldn't be an issue at all, when you bought the vehicle did anyone automatically change out the fluids because you thought what you were putting in was going to be better anyways. There are so many factors when putting a better fluid that plays a part in what you should do, meaning environment, what are you using your ride for.... I called the dealership and asked them what they recommended for fluid, it seems everyone that has replied to this thread are all right, it's just a matter of what's the best answer for you!!!!

EXACTLY why I don't want to run some thin azz fluid when it shoudl be a thick azz fluid like gear oil not trans fluid in the tcase.

Did you end up getting any answers on what we should be running Tainter? You've got me worried about the ATF in my TCase now....
