GM does not make hummers under license from AM. The answer is simple,1998 AM sold the brand nametoGM.Therefore, GMowns HMMWV or Hum-Veehummers and Hummers.The difference between the two is that Hummers are the civilian version of Humvees.
AM General, originally the military and government vehicle division of American Motors, still produces hummersindependently from GM and GM is responsible for the marketing and distribution of all Hummers produced by AM General.
On May 12, 2006 GM announced that it will cease production of the original H1. However, AM willlikely continue to produce Humvees for the military with anew AM General HUMVEE prototype that will be competing for the military's Future Tactical Truck System (FTTS) contract, which will produce the replacement for the current Humvee, of which some 140,000 are still in active service. I say "will likely continue" becauseprototypes from Lockheed Martin and other military contractors have already been submitted to teh military. AM General has tobid now to keep the Humvee in the game.

 

Anyway, let's get back to the 2007 H3 problem. does anyone have any more suggetsions? Are there any updates you can provide?

 

ALLRIGHTY NOW,
I got the alleged redesigned piece placed in my vehicle. Im not sure if the sound is still there. Sometimes I think i hear the noise and at other times i hear nothing. Unsure if tha tis a mind tricks or what, but i will follow up closely and post any chnages.
Oh by the way, the new redesigned piece can only be obtained by ordering the old part number, only then you will get a new piece with a new part number.
