Snorkel

RE: Snorkel
A snorkel is still a good idea even on a gasser if you ever wander into deep water... While it is true that there are other electrical components that are not sealed below the 30" line (gassers are only rated for 24" water fording), entering water that isn't real deep can still produce a temporary bow wave, and if you suck water into the air breather at the top of the hood, you will hydrolock your engine.
Even on the diesel trucks a snorkel is not going to allow extended operation above 30" -- it is there more to afford insurance against a quick splash or temporary dip into deeper water.

RE: Snorkel
thanks hmcoleap. Now I dont know if you know, but do all gassers have 2 air filters? Mine has some kind of k and n dual airfilter setup....and the air box round thing is gone. will I need that air box round thing, or can I make a inline airfilter that goes onto a snorkel? thanks.

RE: Snorkel
Yeah, the gasser has two filters; I wouldn't try to eliminate one of them by putting a filter on the snorkel, but a pre-cleaner isn't a bad idea (ejects larger particles and water droplets before they reach the filters)
